Chéri Hérouard: The Early Years
Born and raised in France, Chéri Hérouard always knew he would end up being an artist. Of course, his well-to-do family were not too keen on the idea and tried directing him toward a military career. Thankfully for us, and the rest of the world, he decided against joining the service. By following his passion, he became an overnight success after impressing a local editor with his portfolio of drawings. Chéri Hérouard sold his first series to Le Journal de la Jeunesse in 1902.
